The Culture and Leisure Department works to promote cultural and leisure activities in the municipality. We are a politically governed service organization where residents are our stakeholders. Together, we find new ideas and solutions that contribute to residents' quality of life, sustainability, health, integration, and reduced exclusion.
The department consists of five operational areas:
- Culture school, youth culture, open youth activities, and leisure activities
- Leisure, sports, swimming hall, ice hall, and association activities
- Performing arts, film, theater, art, music, museum, library, cultural heritage, Finnish administrative area, and minority work

DUTIES
The role involves coordinating the municipality's open youth activities and leisure centers operationally, with a focus on team leadership, activity planning, and development of daily operations.
The position also includes initiating and coordinating collaborations with internal and external partners, such as schools, associations, other municipal services, and local organizations. The work involves creating conditions for joint activities, strengthening cooperation, and developing networks around youth activities.
A key part of the role is providing operational support to staff, creating structure and continuity, identifying needs, and turning ideas into concrete activities and initiatives. The focus is on creating safe, inclusive, and attractive meeting places where young people have the opportunity to participate, build community, and enjoy meaningful leisure time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Who are you?
We're looking for someone who wants to help develop our open youth activities and who enjoys a role where you can combine team leadership, coordination, and activity development.
We'd like you to have relevant higher education, such as in social work, behavioral science, pedagogy, social pedagogy, leisure science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You have documented experience in team leadership and have previously been responsible for leading, delegating, and following up on daily work in an activity or work group. You're comfortable in an operational role and have the ability to create structure, clarity, and good conditions for your colleagues.
You are organized and goal-oriented and can plan, organize, follow up, and evaluate activities together with your colleagues. As a leader, you are stable, confident, and coaching. You can handle stress, changes, and setbacks constructively and maintain a professional and solution-oriented approach even when the pace is high. You motivate, support, and develop your colleagues through dialogue, feedback, and clear expectations.
You are unpretentious and collaboration-oriented and find it easy to build good relationships with both internal and external partners. You listen to different perspectives and work with others to find solutions that contribute to the activity's shared goals.
The position is operational and involves working directly in youth activities. Working hours are therefore scheduled for both evenings and weekends, based on activity needs. You need to be comfortable being close to the activities and meeting young people and colleagues in their daily lives.
You need to have a driver's license.
