Oskarshamn municipality is now looking for a care assistant at Röda Höghuset, a service housing according to LSS where the individual's needs, participation and independence are at the center. This position is a parental leave substitute that extends until Jan 2028. Röda Höghuset is a service housing in a stairwell model with 13 apartments, of which 12 are residential apartments. The thirteenth apartment is a common area with kitchen, staff room and on-call room with sleeping accommodation and rest facilities. The housing is located in Kristineberg in Oskarshamn. For us, work is about much more than providing support. It's about seeing the person, creating opportunities and strengthening the individual's own abilities. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS As a care assistant at Röda Höghuset you work with people with neuropsychiatric disabilities. You become an important person in their daily life and support them in creating structure, security and independence. A large part of the work involves motivation. You support and encourage the individual to take steps toward their own goals and to be involved in their daily life. For example, this may mean that you motivate and support regarding work or studies, provide support with household tasks and hygiene. You administer medication on delegation from licensed staff and document and follow up interventions. The work is varied and no two days are alike. You need to be able to adapt your support to the individual and the situation, while creating clarity and continuity. At Röda Höghuset we work together to create a safe and developing environment for both residents and each other. You will have the opportunity to contribute your experience, ideas and perspectives. As part of our team you participate in the organization's quality assurance and in organizational and skills development. The assignment includes solo work, which means you need to feel comfortable making your own decisions and taking responsibility. Work hours are scheduled for day, evening, weekends and on-call nights with sleeping arrangements, and collaboration with other units occurs. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • nursing assistant certification or other education that the employer deems equivalent • good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • a B driver's license. It is meritorious if you have: • post-secondary education or experience with neuropsychiatric disabilities, psychiatry or similar • experience or training in low-affective interaction • training in MI (motivational interviewing) • experience in motivation and change work.
