Österledskolan is a school for grades 7-9 in the middle of Oskarströms community, just under two miles north of Halmstad along Nissastigen. Students come here from Valhallaskolan, Åledsskolan, and Esperedsskolan after completing grade 6. The school is close to beautiful nature with Furulundsbadet, sports fields, jogging trails, an ice rink, and a ski slope within walking distance. The primary schools in Halmstad have recently begun a change process with the ambition to create better conditions for students, employees, and managers. Your responsibilities As principal, you have overall responsibility for Österledskolan, with a focus on student learning, school development, and ensuring operations are conducted within given financial frameworks. You have personnel responsibility and are responsible for the work environment, employee meetings, salary discussions, and day-to-day leadership. At Österledskolan, you are also the manager of an assistant principal. You lead the school's systematic quality work together with staff by monitoring results, identifying needs, prioritizing development areas, and creating conditions for improvements in operations. You are also responsible for the school's student health and wellbeing work in close collaboration with the student health team and staff. In this role, you combine operational responsibility with long-term development of operations. At the same time, you are part of a larger whole where you, together with other school leaders, contribute to the development of primary education in Halmstad. Your qualifications As a leader, you are confident, clear, and have a strong ability to build trusting relationships. You see the value of collaboration and want to contribute to a culture where people work together to develop operations. You have the ability to combine a long-term perspective with presence in daily operations and can create structure, direction, and engagement in the organization. We also believe you see the value in developing both your own operations and work together with other principals and functions within the administration. You enjoy blending operational and strategic leadership. If you meet the requirements, you will be asked to complete tests, followed by a phone call, a competency-based interview, and finally a candidate meeting with union representatives. We always take references from final candidates. Competency interviews are scheduled for October 2 via remote and possibly the morning of October 5, followed by a candidate meeting with union representatives on site on October 9.
