Test Lead / Software Tester for Statistics Sweden (SCB) in Örebro Statistics Sweden (SCB) is strengthening its testing function in Örebro with a consultant (Level 3) who both leads test work and performs operational testing. SCB develops and maintains mission-critical IT systems with high demands for stability and data protection. The role exists to ensure quality and regulatory compliance in the agency's deliverables and to contribute to developing their testing methodology. The assignment runs for two years with an option for an additional 2 x 12 months. Quick Facts Client: SCB (Statistics Sweden) Start: September 30, 2026 Scope: Full-time, 100% Location: Örebro, hybrid. The Örebro office is the main workplace, typically 2 days per week (normally not two consecutive days). Other days remote. More on-site days may be required initially. Employment Type: Subcontractor via Lynqa (we handle contracts and invoicing) Assignment Duration: 2026-09-30 to 2028-09-29 (option for up to 24 additional months, max 4 years total) Application Deadline: September 1, 2026 (Interviews held the weeks following the final bid deadline, in-person in Örebro or digitally) What You Will Do Plan, lead, and follow up on test work within projects and operations Develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases Coordinate test activities with development, operations, and external vendors Perform manual testing and contribute to automated testing Manage bug reporting, quality assurance processes, and develop SCB's testing methodology Participate in requirements work from a test perspective and ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and results Report test status, risks, and quality to project management and governance Requirements for the Role (Level 3) At least 5 years of documented software testing experience (since 2020) At least 3 years of documented experience as a test lead (since 2020) Documented experience in developing test strategies and test plans Experience with both functional and non-functional testing Experience with testing in agile development environments (e.g., Scrum or SAFe) Fluent Swedish in speech and writing Accepts SCB's Örebro office as primary workplace 2 days per week Meritorious (Bonus Requirements) At least 3 years of documented experience (since 2020) in one or more of the following areas.
