Description We are now seeking an accounting economist who wants to be here from the beginning and help build a modern and operations-focused finance function in a new organization. You will be part of the finance unit together with six colleagues and work closely with the finance manager and controller. Together, you are responsible for the company's accounting and the four owner municipalities' water and sewage operations. The role also involves close collaboration with the finance functions in the owner municipalities. As an accounting economist, you will have independent responsibility for the company's accounting while contributing to the development of processes, procedures, and work methods. Responsibilities As an accounting economist, you are responsible for the company's ongoing accounting and financial reporting and ensure that accounting complies with applicable legislation, owner directives, and good accounting practices. In this role, you work with monthly, interim, and annual financial statements and prepare annual reports. You are also responsible for investment and fixed asset accounting and participate in preparing financial reports and decision-making materials for management, the board, auditors, and owner municipalities. An important part of the assignment is ensuring correct financial tracking of water and sewage operations, including separate reporting and financial information related to rate-financed operations. You also contribute to the development and efficiency of finance processes, internal controls, and digital work methods. Qualifications We are looking for someone with an academic degree in accounting or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience with qualified accounting work and good knowledge of financial statements, VAT and tax returns, annual reports, and financial reporting. To succeed in this role, we see that you have experience with corporate accounting and are confident working independently with qualified accounting matters. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have a good ability to collaborate with different functions and stakeholders. It is a merit if you have: experience from municipal operations or municipal companies experience with investment and fixed asset accounting knowledge of rate-financed operations and water and sewage economics experience with development and change initiatives within the finance area Personal Qualities We place great importance on your personal qualities.
