At our hotel, the reception is the heart of the operation. You'll meet guests from the first "hello" to the last "welcome back" while helping ensure that different departments of the hotel work smoothly together.
About the role
As a receptionist, you are Vänerport's face to the world. You welcome our guests, assist them during their stay, and ensure they receive professional and personal service.
Your workdays will be varied and involve both independent work and close collaboration with colleagues in reception, restaurant, breakfast service, and housekeeping.
Your responsibilities will include:
Checking guests in and out
Receiving and managing bookings
Answering inquiries via phone, email, and in person
Providing guests with information about the hotel, Mariestad, and the surrounding area
Handling bookings for the hotel, restaurant, conferences, and events
Processing payments and managing the cash register
Planning the day and overseeing different hotel departments
Preparing for arrivals, departures, meetings, and conferences
Following daily checklists and keeping the reception and entrance welcoming
Handling basic administrative tasks
Assisting with breakfast service, serving, dishwashing, and other practical tasks as needed
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys meeting and helping people. You are positive, solution-focused, and stay calm even when the pace is fast or multiple things happen at once.
For this position, you need to:
Be at least 18 years old
Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
Have good computer skills and be quick to learn new booking and payment systems
Be able to work independently and take responsibility for your shift
Be flexible and able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Have a pleasant, professional, and service-oriented demeanor
Previous experience from hotels, reception, restaurants, retail, or customer service is a plus but not required. What matters most to us is your attitude, work ethic, and desire to create a fantastic experience for our guests.
