About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating and expanding existing ones, and are now seeking more staff members. Description The Mariestad Operations Area encompasses the open prison Rödjan, the closed prison Johannesberg, and Mariestad Remand Prison. Mariestad currently has approximately 400 employees distributed across different professional categories and competencies. Tidaholm Prison is a closed class 1 facility with approximately 500 employees. Responsibilities As a psychologist at our facilities in the Mariestad and Tidaholm Operations Areas, you will perform qualified psychological work in a socially important operation. The role involves conducting clinical assessments, neuropsychiatric evaluations, and individually tailored treatment interventions based on clients' needs. You will encounter a broad and complex range of issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, personality problems, and neuropsychiatric functional impairments, making the work varied, developmental, and meaningful. You will work closely with nurses, doctors, and psychiatrists as well as other staff at the facility to strengthen the ability to meet clients' psychological needs and prevent negative effects of incarceration. An important part of the role is to contribute to reduced reoffending risk and increased receptiveness to treatment. When needed, you will also provide support and guidance to colleagues to promote a professional approach and increase knowledge about clients' circumstances. The work is characterized by freedom with responsibility, where you independently plan and structure your interventions. You will combine clinical specialization with a clear societal mandate – in an environment where your expertise makes a concrete difference. Travel may occur as part of the position, and there is also the opportunity to work from our operations areas in Mariestad or Tidaholm. The role may include client-facing work with children and young people. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. You have a good ability to work in a team with general practitioners, psychiatrists, and nurses, as well as collaborate with other staff and external actors. You are solution-focused and should be able to plan, organize, and carry out your work independently. In this role, it is also important that you are flexible, curious, and thrive in a changing environment. Requirements: Licensed psychologist Knowledge of CBT and its methodology Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish Category B driver's license Meritorious: Experience with neuropsychiatric evaluations Clinical experience as a psychologist specializing in individuals with social and/or mental functional impairments and substance-related syndromes Experience in trauma treatment Experience working in closed facilities/psychiatry Experience in assessment and/or treatment of personality syndromes Experience or familiarity with conducting clinical psychological work remotely via video meetings Experience working with children and young people Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the cover letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
