Project Manager - Lead Reform Work in Preschool, Primary School, and Upper Secondary School Are you an experienced principal or school leader with the ability to lead change, provide direction, and translate national reforms into concrete development across preschool, primary school, upper secondary school and adapted school forms, as well as other activities regulated by the Education Act, such as the municipality's activity responsibility. Job Responsibilities As a project manager, you will have a key role in the Department of Children and Education's strategic development work. The assignment involves creating structure, coordination, and momentum in work with the reforms and changes that affect preschool, primary school, and upper secondary school. You will work closely with the school director, administrative management, and principals to translate national reforms, investigations, and updated steering documents into concrete priorities, approaches, and initiatives in the operations. In this role, you are responsible for analyzing new requirements and steering signals, identifying what consequences they have for the organization, leadership, teaching, skills provision, and resource use, and ensuring that the change work is conducted in a coordinated and long-term manner. You drive development processes together with principals and other key functions, develop decision-making materials, and contribute to translating ideas, ambitions, and political goals into practical action with a focus on increased quality and improved results for children and students. An important part of the assignment is to coordinate work between the municipality's different school forms and create a common thread in the education strategy. By monitoring external developments and identifying upcoming changes, you contribute to the municipality staying ahead in the development of educational activities. You also follow up on the effects of implemented measures, identify obstacles, and adjust approaches and priorities as needed to ensure that the development work achieves the desired results. The assignment is conducted during the school years 2026/2027 and 2027/2028, with the possibility of extension. The employment is a project position. Qualifications We are looking for someone with substantial experience leading and developing educational activities at the principal level, for example as a principal or other qualified school leadership position. You have documented experience driving change and development work in schools and are accustomed to translating political decisions, national reforms, and steering signals into implementable initiatives that create results in the operations. To succeed in this role, you need to have: A very good understanding of how national reforms impact preschool, primary school, and upper secondary school, and can analyze complex issues from both a strategic and an operationally-focused perspective. A structured approach in which you identify priorities, clarify choices, and translate analyses into concrete actions that create momentum. The ability to provide direction, engagement, and drive even in situations where the change is extensive or presents new requirements for the organization. The ability to produce clear and target-group-adapted written materials, reports, and presentations that summarize complex issues, highlight analyses, and support dialogue, decision-making, and continued work. Be a skilled communicator who builds trusting relationships and collaborates effectively with different stakeholders. As a person, you are driven, results-oriented, and have the integrity to raise issues that need to be changed. You combine a strategic perspective with a good understanding of the day-to-day operations and have the ability to switch between long-term development issues and operational problem-solving. You have a strong commitment to children's and students' learning and want to be part of developing the municipality's educational activities for the future. The employment requires a passed background check and extract from the criminal register. The position is filled subject to the required decisions being made.
