About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager Railway for investment projects based in Linköping or Jönköping.
In this role, you will lead railway projects from planning through implementation and completion. You will work closely with project engineers, technical specialists, consultants, and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered according to established objectives regarding scope, schedule, and budget.
The assignment primarily involves work during the design and production phases and may include multiple parallel projects depending on workload.
Role and ResponsibilitiesLead, plan, coordinate, and monitor assigned railway projects.
Ensure project delivery in terms of schedule, budget, and scope.
Establish and monitor schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
Plan and conduct project meetings.
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders within projects.
Monitor technical documentation, deliverables, and deviations.
Report project status and project results.
Prepare and quality assure decision-making materials.
Participate in procurements and contract management.
Work with risk management, financial monitoring, and forecasting.
Apply Trafikverket's project model, document management, and governing documents.
Competency Requirements
1. Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
2. Experience working in project teams where coordination has been a central part of the assignment.
3. Valid B-category driving license.
4. Minimum three (3) years of documented experience as a project manager for railway projects within general railways with independent responsibility for planning, management, monitoring, and delivery of projects or clearly defined project components.
5. Experience from design and/or construction phases in railway projects.
6. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, standards, and requirements in the field.
7. Completed BASÄSKYDD training.
8. Minimum two (2) reference assignments in a supervisory role that included preparation of construction documents or work in the production phase within at least two of the following technical areas:
Switch and track replacement
Electrification and contact line replacement
Control and signaling systems
9. The reference assignments must have comprised at least 850 working hours per assignment and included documented responsibility for planning, management, monitoring, and delivery. The projects must have had a total budget of at least 100 MSEK per assignment.
10. Completed BAS-P and BAS-U training. The training must not be older than five (5) years at the time of application.
Value-Added Requirements1. Experience independently working with scheduling, financial monitoring (budget, actual, and forecast), and risk management in railway projects.
2. Experience working according to established project models such as XLPM, PROPS, PPS, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
3. Experience working in construction or production phases in railway projects.
4. Experience coordinating multiple technical areas (BEST) in railway projects.
Assignment InformationAssignment Period: Initially 24 months with the possibility of extension up to an additional 24 months through two separate option periods of 12 months each.
Scope: 80-100% of full-time. During October and November 2026, a minimum of 40% utilization is acceptable. During December 2026 and January 2027, a minimum of 60% utilization is acceptable.
Placement Location: Linköping or Jönköping.
Start: No earlier than 2026-10-12 and no later than 2026-11-01.
