Do you want to lead and develop Folkbildningsrådet's events at important meeting places like Almedalen and Bokmässan and be part of our external communications work? Do you want to help showcase the role of public education for individuals and society? We are seeking a project manager with a focus on events for our Communications and External Relations unit, a role that alternates between intensive event periods and ongoing communications work. About Folkbildningsrådet Folkbildningsrådet is a non-profit association with a mission to distribute and follow up on state grants to folk high schools and study associations. We create conditions for free and independent public education that meets the needs of individuals and society. We have approximately 50 employees organized in different units with a shared focus on quality, legal certainty, and development. The Communications and External Relations unit is responsible for Folkbildningsrådet's communications, knowledge dissemination, and environmental monitoring – including internal and external communications, government relations, and events. About the position As a project manager with a focus on events, you will play a central role in planning, managing, and implementing Folkbildningsrådet's public events. You will coordinate program content, act as a client in relation to external providers, and coordinate communications around the events we organize – with a focus that shifts between event management and the unit's ongoing communications work depending on the season. Your responsibilities will include: - Plan, manage, and implement Folkbildningsrådet's external events, with particular focus on the recurring conference Folk och bildning and participation in Almedalen - Formulate themes and questions, assemble panels, and identify relevant speakers - Act as a client in relation to external providers, collaborate with external partners, and coordinate practical and logistical matters - Oversee or coordinate web publishing, filming, and live streaming of seminars and webinars - Follow up on and evaluate completed events - Be part of the unit's ongoing communications work, for example on the web and in social media Who are you? You are a structured and experienced project manager with good judgment. You are self-driven, creative, have strong collaboration skills, and are interested in societal issues and politics with particular focus on education and culture. You thrive in a role where structure goes hand in hand with creativity and curiosity. We are looking for you to have: - A degree from a university in communications science, journalism, or another relevant field for the position - Experience in project management, preferably within events, conferences, or seminar activities, as well as experience acting as a client in relation to external providers - Very strong ability to express yourself in writing and speech in Swedish, and to explain complex matters in an accessible way - Experience with web publishing, film, and live streaming, such as of webinars It is an advantage if you have: - Experience with or interest in using AI tools in communications and event work, for example for research, text drafts, or image production - Experience working in public administration and/or non-profit activities Folkbildningsrådet as a workplace Public education is a glue that holds together, strengthens, and develops Swedish society and democracy.
