Job responsibilities
In Gävle Municipality, there are nine association-run recreational centers that are important meeting places for many children and young people. We now see a need to strengthen staff competence in preventing and countering violence and addressing the socioeconomic challenges young people face today.

In your role as project leader, you will:
Plan and implement training initiatives for staff at the recreational centers.
Collaborate closely with the activities and participate in open recreational programs.
Work strategically to prevent violence and reduce exclusion.
Contribute to skills development in areas such as violence prevention, social and situational prevention, approach, and gender equality.
The goal is to create safe environments where children and young people have the opportunity to develop, feel hopeful about the future, and strengthen their independence. Gävle Municipality works with the violence prevention program MVP (Mentors in Violence Prevention). Work within the recreational centers began in 2025 and is now to be further developed. You will:
Receive basic MVP training from BIG
Participate in advanced training through the organization MÄN
Be responsible for training and supporting staff at recreational centers in Valbo, Bergby, Strömsbro, Forsbacka, Hedesunda, and Sätra
Continue development work at recreational centers in Brynäs, Bomhus, and Andersberg
Follow up on staff's value-based work and skills development during 2026–2027
