NCC Green Industry Transformation – SSAB Project, Luleå Would you like to be part of building the fossil-free steel production of the future? As a Project Engineer with a steel focus, you'll play a central role in implementing NCC's contract for SSAB's new steel mill in Luleå. You'll be an important part of the project organization and work closely with project management and production with a focus on cost control, contract administration, and production-oriented project support. The role involves contributing to structure, control, and progress through financial monitoring, forecasting work, change order management, and monitoring of the project's key metrics. About the Project Engineer, Steel Focus role As a Project Engineer with a steel focus, you'll work closely with project management and production and serve as important administrative and financial support throughout project execution. The role has many contact points and involves collaboration with project management, production, the client, subcontractors, suppliers, and other functions in the project organization. Your main responsibilities include: • Supporting project management in cost control and financial monitoring • Monitoring project costs, forecasts, KPIs, and unit rates, and analyzing deviations • Establishing and monitoring quantity management in quantity-regulated contracts and subcontracts • Administering and monitoring change orders with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers • Identifying, documenting, and reporting deviations and contributing to corrective measures • Reviewing supplier invoices and allocating them to the project's resource account plan • Monitoring and obtaining documentation from subcontractors and suppliers according to agreements and project requirements • Assisting with quality, environmental, and occupational health documentation and risk assessments • Contributing to reporting and final documentation to the client as needed • Identifying and driving improvements in the project's working methods and processes An important part of the role is contributing to a well-functioning project team where we share knowledge, support each other, and together solve the challenges that arise. You're expected to take responsibility for your own areas but also contribute to the project's overall progress and success. Your Profile as Project Engineer, Steel Focus We're looking for someone with a bachelor's degree, engineering degree, or other relevant post-secondary education and several years of work experience from construction, infrastructure, or industrial operations. To succeed in the role, we'd like you to have: • Practical experience with finance-related work in project operations • Understanding of contract administration and change order management • Good understanding of the construction process and the parameters that affect the project's economy and execution • Ability to structure and monitor information from subcontractors and suppliers • Strong knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written It's a plus if you have experience from major industrial investment projects, contract operations, or complex construction projects. About NCC Green Industry Transformation NCC Green Industry Transformation is a newly established business area working on large and complex projects in the future's green industry. NCC and SSAB have signed an agreement for construction work on the eastern half of a new steel mill on Svartön in Luleå – a key project in the transition to fossil-free steel production. The steel mill is expected to be operational in 2029. However, it's possible to take on this role even if you live elsewhere. NCC arranges travel and accommodation, and 100% physical presence can be Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.
