E.ON in Sweden is part of the international energy company E.ON SE with headquarters in Essen, Germany. The company employs around 70,000 people across 17 countries. Around 2,100 engaged employees work throughout Sweden. Our Nordic headquarters is located in Malmö. In Sweden, we deliver electricity, heating, and smart energy solutions to over one million households and businesses. E.ON's role is to take responsibility for and drive development forward, so that more can transition to sustainable energy. Through our investments and our customers' willingness to contribute, we work to continue electrifying society and meet future energy needs. About Us Our Facility Optimization department plays an important role in the energy transition as we are responsible for planning and designing the regional grid based on current conditions and future needs. Our work provides the foundation for stable and secure electricity supply while enabling connections for renewable energy production and new customer connections. Facility Optimization is also responsible for monitoring investments from both a technical and financial perspective to ensure that investment goals and technical requirements are met on time. Within Facility Optimization, Engineering plays a key role in driving our reinvestment and connection projects forward. Together, we ensure that projects are executed with high quality and long-term sustainability, so that facilities can be managed efficiently over time. At the same time, we contribute technical expertise and collaborate broadly to develop and future-proof our power grid. To succeed with this, we are strengthening our Engineering teams and seeking several colleagues who want to be part of creating lasting change while ensuring energy supply for our customers, both now and in the future! Your Role As Engineering Lead, you will drive the pre-study and engineering phases for new construction and renovation projects of power lines and cables in the regional grid. In your role, you ensure progress and monitor schedule, budget, quality, and risk management throughout the engineering process. During the pre-study phase, you analyze grid needs, investigate the best solution, and lead a project team to gather and compile materials for a pre-study report. You then advance and advocate for the recommended solution in our technical decision committee. In the engineering phase, you lead detailed design, procure and coordinate consultants, and ensure that the contract work is ready for procurement before the project is handed over to a project manager. You work closely with the project team, including grid planners, permit specialists, outage planners, and technical specialists. Externally, you are in contact with consultants, contractors, municipalities, authorities, and landowners to ensure that projects are planned and executed in the best way possible. Your Experience We are looking for someone with experience working with power lines and/or cables in the regional grid with an understanding of their structure, which will be an important prerequisite for conducting pre-studies. We also see that you have the ability to lead project teams in a structured and engaging way. If you have experience with engineering of performance contracts and AMA, we are particularly interested in you. If you are also trained as an electrical power engineer, this is considered a merit. Your commitment, perseverance, and analytical skills enable you to drive projects forward with structure even when you encounter setbacks, while handling challenges in a solution-oriented manner. You understand the importance of keeping the project's different parts together, ensuring that decisions are made at the right time, and creating structure and clarity in documentation. You are motivated by collaborating with different stakeholders and creating an environment where everyone feels involved. With your communication skills and coaching leadership style, you engage the project team and guide them toward common goals. What It's Like Working With Us We look forward to welcoming you to our two Engineering groups. With us, you will be offered a developmental role where you have the opportunity to shape the future energy system together with colleagues in roles such as engineers, engineering leads, and designers. We have a culture characterized by collaboration and innovation – and we are looking for you to be part of this journey with us! Warm welcome to apply and join us on the path toward a sustainable society! The closing date for applications is October 7. Since we work with activities vital to society, the position is security-classified, which means a security clearance will be conducted before employment.
