Duties As a Project Economist with us, you will be responsible for the financial management of research projects and support researchers/project leaders throughout the entire project cycle, from application to completed projects with a focus on financial and administrative tasks. The work is conducted in close collaboration with the school's researchers/project leaders. The Project Economist also supports one or more department heads in matters concerning financial management. The work includes tasks such as: Advice and support in budgeting for applications Project budgeting following approved applications Accounting and monitoring of revenues and costs within grant-funded projects Financial reporting to financiers Communication with financiers and any participating partners to ensure compliance with financial and administrative requirements Work with budgets and forecasts for one or more departments Other administrative tasks may also occur Qualifications Requirements Bachelor's degree in Economics or work experience that the employer deems equivalent At least three years of experience working with accounting and monitoring Communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts in an understandable way Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing – both languages are required in daily work as we operate in an international environment Good knowledge of the Office package Experience working in financial systems (e.g. Agresso, SAP or similar) Personal Qualities To succeed in the role of Economist, you need to be independent, structured, quality-conscious and service-oriented. In addition, you need to have pedagogical insight and thrive in an environment with many contact points and varying tasks. Meritorious Experience independently working with accounting, financial statements and reporting of grant-funded projects. Experience working with budgets and forecasts and supporting a management function in financial matters.
