Outokumpu in Avesta is now seeking a Process Group Manager for the Steel Mill, Converter. About the Role
As Process Group Manager, you are responsible for leading and developing a section of the Steel Mill toward established goals in safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.
You play a central role in daily operations and work closely with production, maintenance, and other support functions to create the best possible conditions for safe and efficient operation. The role involves both operational leadership and a long-term focus on development and improvement work.
Your Areas of Responsibility
You have overall responsibility for your production area, your employees, and the operation's results.
This includes:
leading, coaching, and developing employees within your process group
managing occupational health, safety, and environmental aspects within your area
ensuring stable, safe, and quality production
driving and prioritizing development and improvement initiatives
planning and leading operations during planned and unplanned shutdowns
working closely with the maintenance organization to optimize facility availability
ensuring that manufacturing regulations, instructions, and safety procedures are followed and developed
responsible for competency development and long-term staffing planning within the group
contributing to the implementation and development of Avesta Works management system
fostering a culture characterized by collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
engineering education, preferably in materials engineering, metallurgy, or equivalent
experience from process industry, manufacturing, or other production-related operations
experience with or a strong interest in leadership and personnel development
good understanding of safety, quality, and improvement work
good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
