Engagement If you are ready for new challenges, to use your knowledge and experience, to gain professional experience in state administration, contributing to strengthening public safety in Latvia, you are invited to join the State Probation Service team by applying for the position of officer – probation specialist at the 2nd Department of the Riga Western Region territorial unit (1 vacancy for an indefinite period) Main duties of the position: supervise conditionally sentenced, conditionally released before sentence completion, conditionally released from criminal liability persons and persons subject to the criminal sentence – probation supervision (includes person monitoring and organization of social support, including visiting probation clients at their place of residence during nighttime hours together with colleagues); organize execution of the criminal sentence – community service – and execution of a disciplinary coercive measure – community service; prepare assessment reports as requested by the court, prosecutor, or prison administration; conduct probation programs; organize and participate in inter-institutional meetings; prepare submissions to the court and represent the State Probation Service in court. Requirements for candidates: conformity with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; higher academic or second-level professional higher education; good cooperation and communication skills; knowledge in document management; understanding of criminal sentence execution matters; good Latvian language proficiency in speech and writing; ability to use information and communication technologies; ethics, client orientation, analytical thinking, independence, results-oriented approach; desired B category driver's license.
