Job Responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research group in fluid mechanics at KTH in Stockholm. The position offers excellent opportunities to develop your own research profile in areas such as turbulence, multiphase flows, interfaces, biofilms, surface technology, numerical fluid mechanics (CFD), and machine learning for physical systems. The research direction will be tailored to match the successful candidate's competence and interests. You will work in a creative and international research environment with access to advanced experimental platforms, high-performance computing resources, and a strong network of national and international collaborators. Research is conducted within the framework of an ERC-funded project with substantial scientific freedom and opportunities to explore new ideas. Responsibilities include conducting research of the highest quality, publishing in leading scientific journals, contributing to the development of new research areas, and supervising doctoral students and thesis workers. Depending on your background, the work may involve experiments, direct numerical simulations, theoretical modeling, data-driven methodology, or combinations of these. The Department of Engineering Mechanics offers an internationally recognized research environment with strong expertise in fluid mechanics, applied mathematics, biomechanics, solid mechanics, and acoustics. Qualifications Requirements Completed doctorate or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctorate. This qualification requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made. Documented scientific expertise in fluid mechanics Strong ability to independently conduct research and publish scientific results. Excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written, as it is required in daily work Scientific expertise Teaching ability Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues, with particular focus on gender equality As a person, you are independent, take initiative, and have good ability to collaborate with other researchers and students. Meritorious At the deadline of application, no more than three years since earning your doctorate or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctorate.
