F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala airport. The squadron is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace 24/7, 365 days a year, and leads the Swedish Air Force's fighter jets in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing major change and development due to the international situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit 163rd Garrison Battalion is part of Uppland Air Squadron, F 16. The battalion was established in 2025 and consists of battalion leadership, logistics company, garrison company, and training company. The battalion's main tasks are to train combat units, lead mobilization, support assigned units, provide host nation support at F 16 and the garrison. Main Responsibilities We are looking for you to work as a platoon commander at the Training Company at F16 Uppland Air Squadron. You will lead a motivated team that plans, prepares, and leads a platoon during training and exercises. The position of platoon commander means you are responsible for one of the company's training platoons. You will lead the planning and implementation of conscript training. The position is varied and will be conducted both at the unit and at training and shooting ranges. You will develop in your role as commander, leader, and instructor.
