Nationalmuseum is seeking two Site Manager Sales Associates for fixed-term employment at 50% for 8 months. Work will include Thursday evenings and every fourth weekend according to schedule. Start date as soon as possible, by agreement.
Nationalmuseum is Sweden's museum of art and design and a government agency with the mission to promote art. The collections include paintings, sculptures, miniatures, crafts, design, drawings, prints, and portrait photography. The collections contain approximately 700,000 objects from the 1500s to today. Nationalmuseum aims to create meaningful encounters between people and art and constantly investigate what makes the museum relevant for our time. In this way, we strive for the museum as a meeting place to be experienced as valuable for both new and existing audiences.
We are looking for you to be an active part in visitor engagement as a Site Manager Sales Associate at Nationalmuseum's Sales Unit. We create meaningful encounters between art and people, and staff are key to visitor reception. Therefore, great weight is placed on personal qualities.
Your main responsibilities
- Supervise sales staff in public activity areas.
- Provide public reception in the museum building. Ensure that common visitor areas make a welcoming impression.
- Serve as a contact point between security, restaurant, front-of-house, and other museum functions.
- Promote and sell tickets, exhibition catalogs, branded products, and related merchandise.
- Staff the museum's information points.
- Act as a visitor host in connection with temporary programs, exhibitions, and other events.
- Ensure supply and availability of visitor-promotion materials and shop products.
- Conduct visitor surveys according to instructions provided.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in hospitality within the visitor industry
- Computer skills as a work tool
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written
Meritorious
- Knowledge of cash and booking systems Winpos and Blåboken
- Good knowledge of a third language in addition to Swedish and English
- Experience in supervisory work within the visitor industry
- Experience working for a government agency or administration
- Knowledge of and interest in art and design
