F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala airfield. The squadron is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace 24/7, 365 days a year, and leads the Swedish Air Force's fighter aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the global situation and Sweden's NATO membership. F 16 is growing and we are now looking for new colleagues who want to be part of our development journey! About the Unit As a planning officer at Upplands flygflottilj, F 16, you will be part of the squadron staff. The squadron staff is the unit's highest staff level and has the main task of producing decision-making materials for the Commander of F 16. The staff is responsible for receiving orders and directives from the Air Force Staff and Military Region and breaking these down into tasks for the unit's subordinate units. At A3, the implementation department, most tasks received by the unit pass through, and the department is responsible for the majority of orders issued to subordinate units. Main Responsibilities As a planning officer, you will lead and participate in preparations with other departments within the squadron staff, higher staffs, and related units. Within the implementation department, you are the one who primarily works in close collaboration with the staff's planning department. When long-term planning is to be translated into implementation, you are a key player in ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. As a planning officer, you also have significant responsibility for managing and improving our own planning documents. Examples of work tasks: Work on implementing planning documents in the unit's operations and structure Create conditions for subordinate units to develop in line with current guidelines Create basis for prioritization regarding the current year and its operations Manage order procedures and follow-up for the current year Drive the unit's development in close collaboration with other departments As a planning officer, it is important that you can lead and distribute work within given mandates. A consistent feature is that most work occurs in a short time horizon and places high demands on being able to work both independently and in collaboration with others. If you lack specific training in staff service or leadership, the unit can provide some competence-developing training to ensure the right knowledge is available. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Professional officer with at least three years of experience Class B driver's license Personal Qualities The most important qualities we are looking for are unpretentiousness, a high degree of responsibility and independence, and a clear desire to develop in the role. Being able to manage trust is also a very important quality because you are expected to have significant personal responsibility in order to solve assigned tasks, and where mandates are in some cases delegated from the Commander of F 16. You have good collaboration skills and thrive in cooperation with others, but you also have the courage and judgment to act on your own initiative when the situation requires it. You are driven and thorough and work toward development and improvement. You have the ability to lead and structure work even under time pressure, where operational demands often set the pace. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
