The Music School in Gislaved is a well-established and appreciated activity in the municipality. We offer children and young people the opportunity to play instruments, sing, and develop musically both individually and together with others.
At the Music School, dedicated pedagogues with various competencies work together, and we have extensive ensemble and concert activities. We have access to well-equipped teaching facilities, a music studio, as well as orchestra and concert halls. The Music School also collaborates with the municipality's primary schools and with Gislaved Gymnasium, where our teachers instruct in the aesthetic program's music track.
The municipality also has a rich musical and choral life, including the Gislaved Symphony Orchestra, Gislaved Big Band, and Gislaved Westbo Music Corps.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities are teaching piano students at the Music School and teaching in the aesthetic program's music track.
You work as part of a team where you collaborate with other piano teachers to plan concerts, projects, and other joint activities. The position also includes accompaniment in orchestras, ensembles, and other contexts within the organization.
The Music School works closely with the municipality's schools, and the position may include various forms of collaboration with primary schools and music instruction in classes, depending on the organization's needs.
We offer piano instruction for younger children, from approximately 5 years of age. There is therefore an opportunity to work with and develop teaching methods for younger children.
Piano students are also offered the opportunity to play mallet instruments in our percussion orchestra Gislaved Drum Corps, where you collaborate with the percussion teachers.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with music conservatory education with a relevant specialization for this position.
It is particularly meriting if you have education or experience in teaching younger children, from approximately 5 years of age. Education in Suzuki pedagogy or other pedagogical methods focused on music instruction for younger children is meriting.
You have good digital competence and are experienced with, or can easily adapt to, digital tools used in teaching and operations.
A driver's license and access to your own car are required.
