Are you someone who can take responsibility without taking over? Who understands that a 16-year-old sometimes wants help and sometimes mostly wants the adult world to keep a reasonable distance? Then maybe you're who we're looking for.
We're seeking a substitute hourly assistant for a 16-year-old boy living just outside Stenungsund. You'll work when regular assistants are absent, for example due to illness, vacation, or other time off. You'll become part of an existing assistant team and receive proper introduction and guidance until you feel confident in the role.
He is (like other teenagers) interested in gaming, friends, outings, and doing things he finds fun. He also lives with the muscle disease SMA, which means his muscles don't quite cooperate with his plans. That's where you come in.
Work Hours
Work shifts are 07.00-19.00 or 19.00-07.00, meaning both day and night shifts occur. The number of shifts varies based on operational needs.
What Does the Job Involve?
Simply put: you help him do what he would do himself if his body cooperated.
This includes help with transfers, hygiene, dressing and undressing, exercise, and other practical tasks. You also participate in his life – going to school, hanging out with friends, activities, outings, trips, and sometimes even hospital visits.
The work contains both responsibility and everyday moments. One moment requires full focus during a transfer; the next moment your most important task might be staying in the background while he games or hangs out with friends.
That's why it's important that you can be close without taking over.
Who Are We Looking For?
We believe you are calm, responsible, and attentive, and that you're good at reading situations. You don't need to have worked as a personal assistant before – the right personality and attitude matter more.
However, you should understand that this job is genuinely important. He depends on you showing up on time, following routines, being thorough, and taking responsibility for what you're supposed to do.
And humor? That's definitely a plus.

be smoke-free
have a B driver's license and access to your own car
speak and understand Swedish fluently
not be allergic to fur – there's a dog and cat in the home
have good personal hygiene habits and be considerate of scent sensitivity
be able to provide a satisfactory certificate from the criminal record register for work with children with disabilities
