Thai-speaking personal assistants wanted!
I am a woman with a neurological condition that has affected me for the past 16 years. I live in the southern part of the city, near subway line 17, with my family. I come from Thailand and Thai is my native language. I enjoy cooking Thai food, watching TV, and listening to music together with my assistant. During the summer, I like to go on walks outdoors, and sometimes when I have the energy, we can take walks to pick mushrooms on the way to the forest.
My condition severely limits my physical functions. I communicate via a tablet and can use voice control if something isn't working correctly. I have a ventilator that helps me breathe properly, and I use it most of the day.
Now it's time to recruit new staff. I'm looking for a woman who can ideally communicate in Thai.
Job Responsibilities
Since I cannot use my own muscle strength, I need help with all daily tasks. I use a wheelchair.
I cannot chew and swallow, so I receive food through a feeding tube directly to my stomach (PEG).
I communicate via writing on a tablet and through eye contact.
You will assist me at home, on shorter or longer walks, and with errands such as doctor's appointments. At night, the focus will be on staying awake and helping me with position changes so I can sleep comfortably.
I need help with personal hygiene, personal care, toilet visits, dressing and undressing, transfers (ceiling lift available), food and medication intake, household tasks, and exercises to maintain and improve my functions.
Qualifications
I'm looking for someone who is ambitious and has a will of steel—someone who wants to get to know me and my needs. As a person, you are calm, honest, organized, thorough, and reliable. You should have a big heart, and most importantly, you must have great patience. You are interested in people and communication. You make connections easily and learn quickly.
Having worked as a personal assistant or in a similar role is a plus, but not required. I have assistants and family members who will be there to teach and support you.
Employment Terms
Working conditions are part-time or full-time.
Work hours are 07:00 - 15:00, 15:00 - 21:00, 21:00 - 07:00. You must be able to work night shifts a few nights per month.
Employment terms are regulated according to the collective agreement between KFO and Kommunal. This position is a hourly position that can become permanent for the right person.
