Vällingby Bilvård AB is seeking an experienced and independent passenger car mechanic / light truck mechanic for our workshop at Krossgatan 45 K, 162 50 Vällingby.
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in vehicles and broad practical and technical competence in vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and automotive electronics. You should be able to work independently and take responsibility for a vehicle from troubleshooting and diagnosis through to completed repair.
WORK TASKS
Service, maintenance, and repair of passenger cars and light trucks.
Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics using diagnostic instruments.
Identify and remedy mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
Troubleshooting of engines, engine control and fuel systems.
Disassembly, assembly, and overhaul of engines and engine components.
Troubleshooting and repair of transmissions and drivetrains.
Repair of brakes, steering, suspension, and other mechanical systems.
Troubleshooting of electrical components, sensors, relays, and fuses.
Troubleshooting of wiring, connectors, and electrical circuits.
Diagnostics and troubleshooting of control units and various electronic modules.
Troubleshooting of communication between different vehicle modules, for example CAN-bus.
Replacement, installation, and where necessary programming and coding of control units and electronic components.
Troubleshooting of starting and charging systems.
Inspection and quality assurance after completed repairs.
Documentation of work performed and work orders.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with several years of experience as a vehicle mechanic who is comfortable with both mechanical work and advanced troubleshooting.
You should have good knowledge of:
Vehicle mechanics.
Vehicle diagnostics.
Automotive electronics and electrical systems.
Troubleshooting of wiring and electrical components.
Control units, sensors, and various vehicle modules.
Reading and understanding of electrical schematics.
Use of diagnostic instruments and measuring equipment.
Engine repairs and preferably engine overhaul.
It is a merit if you have experience with CAN-bus, programming and coding of control units, oscilloscope, automatic transmissions, diesel engines, hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as AC and climate systems.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
We are looking for a thorough, responsible, and solution-oriented person. You should be able to work independently, troubleshoot methodically, and find the root cause of a problem instead of replacing parts on a hunch.
You are practically minded, quality-conscious, and have a professional approach to both customers and colleagues. You should be able to handle both simple service work and more advanced repairs.
