We are now seeking a trained orthoptist for Eye Care in Region Örebro County. The Eye Clinic at University Hospital Örebro is a modern and highly specialized operation that provides both acute and planned eye care for patients throughout the region. The Eye Care Division is one of Sweden's five largest eye care operations with approximately 140 employees. Here you work in modern facilities in the H building together with a well-established team. Job Responsibilities As an orthoptist with us, you work independently with assessment and examination of both children and adults. The work is varied and gives you the opportunity to use and develop your orthoptist expertise. Examples of common work tasks include: Vision examinations and vision checks Orthoptic assessments and children's examinations Prescription of glasses Preoperative measurements for strabismus surgery Follow-up and assessment of patients within the orthoptist's area of competence Work tasks are adapted based on your education and experience. Qualifications Experience working as an orthoptist is meritorious, as is experience or particular interest in working with children. As a person, you are confident in your profession and comfortable working independently. You have good collaboration skills, are communicative, and find it easy to build good relationships with both patients and colleagues. About the Operation The Eye Care Division is one of Sweden's five largest eye care operations. Our university health care consists of two units. A medical unit with extensive outpatient care and a surgical unit. The outpatient clinic has team-based activities in general ophthalmology, glaucoma, medical retina, pediatric and strabismus, neuroophthalmology, and uveitis. The surgical unit has a large vitreo-retinal surgery section and an anterior segment surgery section with a cornea center. In total, we have just over 130 employees in the operation. We strive to be at the forefront with high medical quality in several areas, including medical retina. Here is advanced equipment including navigated retinal laser and wide-field imaging. There is a long tradition of participating in international clinical drug trials and good opportunities for research. University Hospital Örebro has close collaboration with Örebro University, which among other things offers medical training. The Eye Care Division has active teaching and training activities. There is research activity and good opportunities for R&D-interested employees.
