As a supervisor in streets and parks, you will have a central role in the daily operations and development of Hallstahammars kommun's public environments. Together with your work team, you will create and maintain well-kept, safe and accessible streets, parks, green areas and other public places. This is an operative supervisory role where you will work primarily out in the field. You lead, allocate and follow up on daily work while also participating practically yourself. Through your presence, you create structure, clarity and good conditions for the team to carry out its mission. You plan work based on operational needs, season, weather conditions and available resources. You report to the unit manager for streets/parks and work closely with the administrative supervisor and other functions within the municipality. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS Your work tasks include: • lead, allocate and follow up on the work groups' daily tasks within streets and parks • conduct daily work briefings and ensure that assignments and priorities are clear • work practically together with work groups in both streets and parks • participate in planning staffing, machinery, vehicles, materials and work tasks • make ongoing prioritizations when weather, fault reports or other circumstances change the plan • introduce and mentor new employees, seasonal workers and interns • contribute to a good safety culture and ensure work is performed according to applicable procedures • identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of routines and working methods • participate in winter road maintenance and emergency preparedness. Practical work may include winter road maintenance, sand removal, cleaning, minor earthwork and construction work, street maintenance, grass cutting, brush clearing, pruning, planting and care of parks, playgrounds and other public environments. Work is conducted outdoors year-round. On-call duty and work in the evenings and on weekends may occur. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the municipality's streets/parks operations and who enjoys working close to both employees and practical operations. You are motivated by creating structure, solving problems and seeing concrete results from the work group's efforts. To succeed in this role, you need to combine clear leadership with a practical and unpretentious approach. You don't need to be a specialist in everything related to both streets and parks, but you should have a good understanding of practical operations and be able to leverage the work group's combined experience and professional expertise. We are looking for someone who has: • current and several years of experience in supervisory roles within practical or technical operations • experience working in streets, parks, earthwork, construction, green space maintenance or similar operations • relevant vocational training or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent • experience planning, allocating and following up daily work • familiarity with operating machinery, vehicles and tools used in the operations • knowledge of work environment and safety in practical work • good digital skills and experience working with various operational systems • B-class driver's license • good ability to communicate in Swedish orally and in writing. It is advantageous if you have: • experience in both street and park operations • training in supervisory or work environment • training in earthwork, construction, parks or horticulture • machinery operator training or relevant machinery certifications • C-class license Your personal qualities As a supervisor, you are visible, present and clear in your leadership.
