Job Responsibilities As an operating room nurse, you'll receive initial placement and work on one of the surgical department's units. You'll have excellent opportunities to become a specialist within your home section and take responsibility for your own area of focus based on your interests and competence. You'll be part of the patient team, which consists of nursing assistants, anesthesia nurses, and physicians working alongside you. Region Västmanland also provides increased compensation for inconvenient working hours for nurses, midwives, radiographers, and biomedical analysts. About the Workplace The surgical clinic is responsible for all surgical care in Västmanland. Parts of the day surgery operations are conducted at the hospital in Köping. More extensive surgery, both emergency and elective, takes place in Västerås. The surgical operations include general surgery, urology, gynecology, robotic surgery, orthopedics, vascular surgery, and otolaryngology. The clinic has a total of 23 operating rooms, with four rooms in Köping and 18 in Västerås. We place great value on collaboration and competence development at the individual level. Qualifications We're looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have specialist nurse education focused on surgical care. If you're nearing the end of your specialist education, you're also welcome to apply. It's a merit if you have previously worked as an operating room nurse in a surgical department, but it's not a requirement. If you've also worked in the journal systems Cosmic or Orbit, we consider that a merit. Since our work is often governed by documents in Swedish, you need to have good language skills, both spoken and written. You are a confident and stable person. We see that you plan and structure your work while also being able to quickly reprioritize and adapt when circumstances change. You have a strong ability to collaborate with others by listening and communicating in a clear and constructive manner.
