About Us
Region Sörmland's eye clinic is a regional clinic with offices at hospitals in Eskilstuna, Nyköping, and Katrineholm. We perform approximately 60,000 visits per year and operate both surgical and outpatient services including emergency services. Nyköping is an office with approximately 28 employees.
Those of us who work here are doctors, nurses, ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists, optometrists, nursing assistants, and administrative staff, all with different expertise to provide our patients with the best care.
Your Responsibilities
As a nurse or master's optometrist at our eye clinic, you will have varied and engaging work. The duties at the clinic include preparing patients for doctor visits with various examinations, but you may also have your own independent clinics, for example photographing the eye fundus and visual field testing. A large patient group for us consists of those with macular degeneration. These conditions are treated with intravitreal injections, which our nurses, after training, perform.
Advisory services via TeleQ are also part of the duties of a nurse/master's optometrist, but this will become relevant after you have gained some experience in our operations.
For us at the eye clinic, it is important to provide you with a proper introduction/training so you feel confident when you start working independently. You will have a mentor who you can always turn to with questions and concerns, and of course there will always be other colleagues nearby.
Your Qualifications
In your formal basic qualifications, you are a licensed nurse in health and medical care, an ophthalmic nurse, an operating room nurse, or a master's optometrist, preferably with a few years of experience. You are attentive, accustomed to taking responsibility, have a strong ability to collaborate within and between professions, and have a positive attitude toward your work. We would like our employees to contribute to service development.

If you are a licensed nurse interested in deepening your knowledge and expertise, there is an opportunity to further train as an ophthalmic nurse later.
Employment Type
Permanent employment with start date by agreement.
