JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Would you like to make a difference for our residents and visitors during the summer of 2027 in Räddningstjänsten Skaraborg? We are looking for several firefighters to be placed at one of our full-time stations (Skövde, Mariestad, Lidköping) from June to August. Our mission is broad and we work both preventively and in damage mitigation. As a firefighter, you are first on scene at accidents and fires and play an important role in caring for those affected. The role includes training, education and maintenance of equipment, as well as other assigned tasks within the rescue service's area of operations, including public information.
To work as a firefighter, you need to be calm, confident, empathetic and have good teamwork skills. It is important that you can understand others' perspectives and are caring. You work well with others, are communicative, proactive and have a broad focus on customers and citizens. As a person, you remain calm and stable in high-pressure situations, adapt easily to new circumstances and have excellent collaboration skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
You must have started the Skydd mot Olyckor (Protection Against Accidents) program or comparable training as assessed by the employer, and you must have valid smoke diving certification. You must have at least a category B driver's license and be able to swim at the level required by the Skydd mot Olyckor program.
To be hired, you must also be approved for smoke and chemical diving as well as climbing at significant heights according to AFS 2023:13. We provide medical examination for this.
Desirable Qualifications
You have completed the full Skydd mot Olyckor program with a passing grade, and previous full-time work experience as a firefighter is desirable.
Great emphasis will be placed on your personal suitability and performance.
Employment Type: Summer Job / Seasonal Work.
Duration: 11 days - 3 months, start date: 2027-05-31 or by agreement.
Test days are scheduled for Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15. If you advance in the process to these test days, you will be scheduled for one of these days and your participation is required. The test day will include physical ability tests, treadmill testing according to AFS, swimming tests, work-related components and a brief interview.
