Welcome to the Neuro and Stroke Unit in Östersund. Whether you're new to your nursing role or have previous experience as a nurse, we welcome you to a team that receives you with open arms. You will feel welcome and receive a good introduction along with a schedule where your personal time is highly valued.
At the Neuro and Stroke Unit, you will meet patients of different ages who are being evaluated for or have been diagnosed with various neurological conditions. You will encounter a mix of acute, chronic, and rehabilitative conditions. You will also meet patients in their final stages of life where palliative care is the focus. The Neuro and Stroke Unit currently has 18 beds for both acute and planned admissions. As a nurse, you are responsible for a maximum of 6 patients when the unit is at full capacity.
As a newly hired nurse on the unit, you will receive an individual introduction plan that includes mentoring and engaged leadership. We work in close dialogue with you as an individual regarding what you need to feel secure, to support your development, and to provide you with the conditions to deliver good and safe care.
On the unit, you will work with a digital patient overview via a personal tablet that you carry with you throughout your shift. The tablet gives you a very good overview of your patients, their information and condition, medication lists, and which tasks you and your colleagues need to perform. You also have access to your email and the unit team, can save your own notes, and set up your own favorites to support your daily work.
By choosing to work with us, you become part of a great team that learns from and encourages one another.
