Transmission | Radio Link | Fiber and Optics | IP Network Do you have experience with transmission or radio link and want to expand into IP? You have practical experience with transmission, radio link, fiber, optics, or related telecom infrastructure and want to take on greater technical responsibility. We are now seeking a Network Specialist in Transmission and IP for FMTIS in Örebro. The initial focus is on transmission and radio link. You prepare, configure, quality assure, and deploy robust communication solutions. Over time, you will also expand your expertise in IP, routing, and switching. You don't need to be a specialist in all areas. What matters is that you can contribute independently in transmission or radio link and want to develop in the space between physical communication infrastructure and IP. Why this role? Here you will work with the entire communication chain – from radio link, fiber, and optics to IP-based communication. The role is more advanced than installation and routine operations. You take technical responsibility from configuration and verification through deployment and documented handover. At the same time, you develop broad and sought-after expertise in both transmission and IP. Key Responsibilities As a Network Specialist, you create the technical conditions for new and modified communication solutions. You collaborate with internal technicians and external suppliers in establishing and modifying network sites and configure communication equipment, often remotely from the office. You perform technical inspections, quality assurance, and participate in deployment. Operations then manages ongoing operations and monitoring, while you provide specialist support for more complex issues. Your responsibilities include: Plan/prepare solutions in transmission and radio link Configure transmission, radio link, and communication equipment Perform technical inspections, quality assurance, and deployment Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues in the communication chain Coordinate technical activities with technicians and suppliers Document and conduct a structured handover to operations Provide specialist support to operations and progressively develop in IP. Qualifications What you bring to the role We are looking for someone with several years of practical experience in transmission, radio link, or related communication infrastructure. This experience could come from telecom, municipal networks, an operator, the energy sector, public sector, or technical consulting. Your actual competence and independence are more important than your current title. To succeed in the role, we see that you have: Relevant education in telecom, networks, IT, or equivalent expertise Practical experience with transmission, radio link, fiber, optics, or related telecom infrastructure Experience in configuration, deployment, or qualified troubleshooting of communication equipment Ability to analyze relationships between equipment, connections, and communication paths Ability to document configurations, changes, and technical measures Basic understanding of IP networks and willingness to develop in routing and switching Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English Class B driver's license Personal Qualities You are analytical, responsible, and thorough. You work methodically, assess technical risks, and ensure proper quality before handover. Since the role has many contact points, you also need to be communicative, unpretentious, and good at collaboration. You take responsibility for completing and documenting work, share your knowledge, and seek help when needed. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Merits It is a merit if you have experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: WDM or other optical transmission solutions Capacity planning and redundant communication paths Advanced troubleshooting of fiber and optic connections IP networks, routing, switching, and VLAN Cisco, Juniper, or other network platforms Technical coordination with suppliers and contractors Security-critical or societal-important operations CCNA or equivalent practical knowledge level You do not need to meet all merits. Your experience in transmission or radio link, your problem-solving ability, and your potential to develop in IP are most important in our assessment.
