IP Networks | Routing and Switching | Advanced Troubleshooting | Transmission You have a solid practical foundation in IP networks and experience with routing, switching, configuration, and technical troubleshooting. Now you want to take on greater technical responsibility and broaden your expertise in transmission and physical telecom infrastructure. We are seeking a Network Specialist in IP and transmission for FMTIS in Hästveda. You will work on preparing, configuring, quality assuring, and deploying robust network and communication solutions. The role also encompasses transmission and the connection between the IP network and the infrastructure. What matters is that you can contribute independently within IP and want to develop your skills in transmission. Why this role? This is an opportunity for you to work professionally with IP networks while developing your understanding of the entire communication chain. You take technical responsibility through configuration, quality assurance, inspections, deployment, and documented handover to the operations organization. You will use your expertise in IP, routing, switching, and troubleshooting from day one. Through practical work, knowledge sharing, and planned competency development, you will simultaneously develop your understanding of fiber, optics, capacity, and redundant communication paths. Key responsibilities As a Network Specialist, you will create the technical prerequisites for new and modified network and communication solutions. You configure network and communication equipment, often remotely, and work with routing, switching, VLANs, IP addressing, network segmentation, and redundancy. You conduct technical inspections, quality assure the solution, and participate in deployment. You ensure documentation and structured handover to operations. For complex cases, you contribute with advanced troubleshooting and specialist expertise. Your responsibilities include: Plan and prepare new or modified network solutions Configure network and communication equipment Work with routing, switching, VLANs, and redundancy Quality assure solutions and participate in deployment Analyze and troubleshoot complex problems, including those at the boundary between IP and transmission Coordinate technical activities Document configurations and changes and conduct structured handover Provide specialist support to operations for complex issues Qualifications What you bring to the role We are looking for someone with several years of practical experience in IP networks, network infrastructure, or related communication solutions, for example from datacom, telecom, or internet service providers. What matters is solid practical IP competence and the ability to independently configure, quality assure, and troubleshoot. To succeed in the role, we see that you have: Relevant education in networking, IT, telecom, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent competence Several years of practical experience with IP-based networks Strong knowledge of routing and switching Experience with configuration and advanced network troubleshooting Understanding of VLANs, IP addressing, network segmentation, and redundancy Ability to analyze technical problems and see connections between different parts of the communication solution Experience with technical documentation Interest in developing your expertise in transmission Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English Class B driver's license Personal qualities We are looking for someone who is analytical, responsible, and thorough, and who wants to understand technical solutions as a whole. You work methodically with configuration, inspection, and troubleshooting and can assess technical risks and quality. The role involves collaboration with technicians, operations staff, specialists, clients, and suppliers, so you need to be communicative and unpretentious. You take responsibility for ensuring that tasks are completed, documented, and handed over. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Merits It is a merit if you have a CCNA or equivalent level of knowledge in networking and in: Fiber, optics, or transmission WDM or other optical transmission solutions Radio links or other transmission types Redundant networks and communication paths Cisco, Juniper, or other network platforms WAN environments and geographically distributed networks Technical coordination with suppliers or contractors Advanced incident and problem management You do not need to meet all merit requirements. Your practical IP competence, troubleshooting ability, and technical responsibility-taking are most important.
