A family in Tyresö is looking for a caring, warm, and engaged nanny who wants to become an important part of their son's daily life. The family lives in a villa in a calm and pleasant area with good public transportation – the bus stops right outside the house.
The father is Finnish but speaks Swedish fluently and speaks Finnish with his son. The home is therefore bilingual, and the son is growing up with both Swedish and Finnish.
The son is 15 months old and is described as an early, curious, and active little boy with lots of energy. He is clear in his communication, understands most of what is said to him, and has a vocabulary of approximately 15–20 words. He understands both Swedish and Finnish.
He loves everything related to the kitchen and cooking – he happily sits in a carrier and joins in when dad cooks. Kitchen utensils are exciting and fun to explore. He also enjoys reading books, building with Duplo, singing together, and actively participating in what happens around him. He feeds himself and likes to be involved.
The family has two cats at home.
The nanny will work 3–4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and possibly Thursday) from 3:00 PM when the nanny picks up from preschool and cares for the son until the parents come home around 6:00 PM.
It is approximately 2 km between the home and preschool. Some days the nanny and son can walk directly home, otherwise there is the option of taking the bus which stops right outside the house. A driver's license is a plus but not a requirement.
Sometimes dinner is ready at home, but some days the family would like the nanny to prepare a simple dinner for the son. Bedtime care is not included in the position.
A person with life experience and confidence is appreciated. The most important qualities are that you are:
Warm, stable, and empathetic
Responsive to a small child's will and curiosity
Playful and engaged in language, singing, and creative play
Comfortable preparing simple children's meals
Comfortable with cats
This is a great opportunity if you want to work a few afternoons per week and be an important, stable adult in a little boy's life – in a home where participation, language, and closeness are central.
