JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Housing Investigation Unit coordinates Gävle Municipality's interventions regarding housing as a service through social services for individuals and families who cannot resolve their housing situation on their own. Anyone who is completely homeless and has particular difficulties obtaining housing on their own can apply for housing assistance from Gävle Municipality; such applications are processed by the Housing Investigation Unit. The goal of the intervention is for the individual to obtain and be given the conditions to maintain their own rental agreement. The individual's resources and abilities are placed in focus. The government/housing case officer's primary task is to create conditions for the individual to take responsibility for their housing and financial situation through active interventions and motivation and change work. Your work tasks include: • Inform the individual about what interventions and support Gävle Municipality can offer. • Map the applicant's needs, resources, and life situation. • Investigate and make formal, legally sound decisions on housing assistance through Social Services. • Follow each case through the entire process, from application to decision, and follow up on granted interventions to ensure that the support remains relevant and works as intended. This gives you both a comprehensive overview and the opportunity to have real impact. As a government/housing case officer at the Housing Investigation Unit, you will have a central role in helping people achieve a secure housing situation. Within the unit there is also Björkegrenska, a residence that primarily serves temporarily homeless families with children, but also certain single adults. Since January 2024, we have been working with the Housing First method in project form, where the focus is on sustainable and long-term housing solutions for our target groups. You will become part of a unit that actively develops its working methods. Over the past year, we have placed great emphasis on ensuring quality in case processing, follow-up, and information regarding housing interventions, always with the goal of providing the best possible support. As new to your role, you will have good conditions to develop, with close and accessible leadership that supports you in your daily work. QUALIFICATIONS Formal competencies: • Social Work degree, Social Care program, or other academic degree that the employer deems equivalent and relevant. • B-class driver's license • Driving experience as travel is part of the position. Meritorious: • Experience with investigation work within the framework of the Social Services Act. • Government authority practice within the framework of the Social Services Act. • If you have experience working with substance abuse, addiction / mental health issues.
