JOB DUTIES
As a substitute in adapted primary school, you are the student's helping hand in achieving learning goals and serve as a link between the class teacher and the student. You provide support to students in creating a meaningful school day based on each individual student's own abilities.
You will actively participate in the adapted primary school and after-school care activities and work with students with many different functional variations, both intellectual and physical, such as autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, epilepsy, and challenging behaviors.
In your job, you will use various types of physical aids to help students exercise their bodies, assist with dressing and undressing, toilet visits, and meal times. You will support and guide students during instruction and other activities throughout the school and after-school day.
Because the operation requires continuity, you need to be able to work 3-5 days per week Monday-Friday. The workday starts early in the morning. Standard time is 07.00, but we have shifts starting as early as 06.00.
QUALIFICATIONS
To work as a substitute teacher in adapted primary school with us, you need:
• A valid criminal record certificate!
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and write Swedish
• Basic computer skills
• Completed upper secondary school diploma
• Be at least 18 years old
It is meriting if you have training in this field, such as student assistant, support assistant, nursing assistant, personal assistant, etc. Experience working in school or care services is also meriting.
You have the ability to communicate information and ideas, both verbally and in writing. You adapt your communication to the recipient, target group, and situation. You have the ability to work with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You understand the shared mission, act on it, and contribute to the whole.
