The Native Language Unit is part of the primary and secondary education administration in the City of Malmö, and we are now seeking a native language teacher in German. As a native language teacher, you will work with native language instruction in grades 1-9 and at the upper secondary level. You provide study guidance in the student's native language across the school's different subjects. Teaching takes place at primary and secondary schools throughout the City of Malmö. You motivate and inspire students and actively work toward their development so they reach the learning objectives. You provide your students with context during the school day and contribute to student integration. You utilize digital tools and pedagogical methods in your teaching. Together with your colleagues, you work to develop instruction. You participate in various project groups aimed at developing instruction for our students. As a native language teacher, you have many different points of contact; students, guardians, and school staff. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a Swedish or foreign teacher's degree, or alternatively a foreign academic degree. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, at least equivalent to upper secondary Swedish 3. To be qualified for this position, very good oral and written skills in your native language are required. You have contemporary language use and follow the linguistic development of your native language. You also have previous experience working as a teacher in Sweden or abroad. It is a merit if you have previously worked as a native language teacher in Sweden. It is also a merit if you have knowledge of Office programs, Google Apps such as Drive and Google Classroom. For permanent positions, a Swedish teacher's degree and Swedish teacher certification are required. You have good insight and knowledge of the Swedish school's governing documents and can apply them in your daily work. The work requires good didactic and pedagogical ability. You can lead and organize work to create a conducive learning environment throughout the day for students. Furthermore, you have good collaborative skills and build positive relationships with both students, guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders. We look forward to receiving your application! About the Workplace The Unit for Native Language Instruction and Study Guidance organizes and provides native language instruction and study guidance in the student's native language to all primary and secondary schools in Malmö. Approximately 15,000 students are offered native language instruction and 3,000 students receive study guidance in their native language. Approximately 280 native language teachers in around 50 languages are currently employed in the operations, with their daily workplace at schools throughout Malmö.
