JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a Swahili mother tongue teacher, you are responsible for teaching the mother tongue to students with these language backgrounds. The work takes place at several schools and includes planning, implementation and follow-up of instruction. You create clear and safe learning situations and adapt teaching to students' level and needs. The role involves collaboration with both guardians, school staff and other mother tongue teachers in the municipality. You contribute by: • planning and implementing instruction based on curriculum documents • adapting instruction to students' needs • creating a safe and inclusive learning environment • collaborating with students, guardians, school staff and mother tongue teachers • using digital tools in instruction We make each other better by: • sharing knowledge and experience • supporting each other in the professional role • contributing to a positive and open work environment QUALIFICATIONS To thrive in the role, it is important to have an interest in languages and enjoy working with students from different backgrounds. Warm and attentive communication makes it easy to build trust and create safe instruction. A structured work approach helps you in planning, while flexibility allows you to easily adapt to different situations in the school day. Curiosity, collaboration and an inclusive perspective contribute to students having good opportunities to develop and to us making each other better. For the assignment, the following are required: • teacher certification with competence in mother tongue • very good knowledge of the mother tongue • good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written We would appreciate it if you have experience in mother tongue instruction, as well as good IT competence and experience using digital tools are also merits.
