Language Center offers native language instruction and subject-specific tutoring in the native language in approximately 70 different languages for students in Stockholm municipal schools. We currently have about 400 employees. Language Center's activities aim to maintain and develop children's and young people's multilingualism and contribute to increased goal achievement for students with a native language other than Swedish. As a teacher at Language Center, you are mobile and work at multiple schools across the municipality. Job Duties The work consists of native language instruction and subject-specific tutoring in the native language for students in Stockholm schools. Teaching is mainly for grades F-9 in primary school, but it would be desirable to also teach in upper secondary school. You collaborate with colleagues and have teaching assignments at multiple schools. Qualifications We see native language instruction and subject-specific tutoring as a very important part of students' language development and goal achievement. Language-developing teaching methods across all subjects are therefore a high priority. We expect you to have a holistic view of students' learning and be curious about developing your profession with us. You have: the current teaching language as your native language good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing good computer skills Meritorious qualifications include: teacher education with certification in the current language experience as a teacher previous experience with Language Center in the City of Stockholm Teacher certification Other Information Upon employment, a police clearance certificate will need to be provided, form 442.5. https://polisen.se/Service/Belastningsregistret-begar-utdrag/ Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Only a certified teacher can receive a permanent employment contract. Interviews take place on an ongoing basis; the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
