Welcome to the Unit for Multilingual Learning in Alingsås Municipality!
We are a central unit that provides mother tongue instruction and study guidance for over 500 students in 26 different languages. The unit consists of 30 dedicated teachers and study guides who work together to strengthen multilingual students' language, identity, and knowledge development from grades 1-9. We are now seeking an engaged mother tongue teacher in Yiddish for our team in a part-time position!

DUTIES
This is a part-time position where the extent is determined by student enrollment. Instruction is scheduled after the student's regular school hours at one of the municipality's schools.
As a mother tongue teacher with us, you develop the student's language by using varying work methods and teaching approaches based on scientific foundations. You plan your instruction so that it stimulates the student's interest in speaking, reading, and writing in Yiddish, while actively using digital tools in ways that support student learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone who:
• has very good language skills in Yiddish in both speech and writing.
• has good knowledge of the curriculum and documents that govern school operations.
• has experience with documentation and assessment as well as digital learning tools such as Unikum, G Suite, Google Drive, and Arena.
It is meritorious if you are a certified mother tongue teacher or have other pedagogical education. We would like to see that you have previous work experience in similar roles and experience working in schools.
We see that you have the ability to meet students based on their individual conditions and stimulate their curiosity and learning. You communicate clearly and engagedly and have an easy time creating good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. As a mother tongue teacher, you need to be able to adapt your instruction to different students' needs and conditions. You work independently and in a structured manner, plan and organize your work efficiently, and meet set deadlines. When needed, you collaborate with the student's home school to create a good overall approach to the student's learning.
Type of Employment: Fixed-term employment.
