Solna is undergoing major transformations with rapid urban development, new neighborhoods and infrastructure being built. The work of the Health Protection Unit is heavily influenced by urban development, which creates supervision areas typical of a growing metropolitan municipality. We are now recruiting an Environmental Health Inspector!
What does the work involve?
You will work in the Health Protection Unit as part of a team of five people, including the unit manager. Commitment, results and a positive atmosphere are integral to the group. We invest significant time in alignment, professional development and quality work to advance our operations.
Solna's size offers a varied range of tasks as an environmental health inspector, while also providing opportunities to develop expertise in specific work areas. Urban development leads to new public facilities being established, meaning the unit's supervision areas for facilities such as preschools, schools and professional hygiene treatment facilities are continuously expanding, giving us opportunities to develop within many supervision areas.
If you have the right qualifications and experience, we would appreciate your work with supervision of preschools, schools, residential properties and radon. Experience supervising professional hygiene activities, such as tattoo studios, foot care and beauty treatments, as well as swimming pools is also valuable.
Beyond this, other tasks will be part of daily work.
Our Offer
We offer you a stimulating and developmental workplace where you become part of a team of engaged and knowledgeable colleagues. Each person takes great responsibility for their own tasks while everyone helps and supports each other with assessments in ongoing cases.
At Solna Municipality, we have a work time agreement that enables flexible working hours. We offer our employees wellness allowances and the opportunity to work remotely a few days per week. Solna has excellent transport connections with proximity to subway, light rail, commuter train and buses.
There are great opportunities to influence your own work. The unit's goals, priorities and working methods are developed jointly, and at unit meetings we help and support each other with assessments in ongoing cases and share new information.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with:
- Higher education in environmental and health protection or equivalent education
- At least three years of experience working as an environmental health inspector in health protection supervision
- Good knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Administrative Procedure Act
- Experience in independent public authority exercise
- Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, orally and in writing
Previous experience with supervision in preschools, schools, professional hygiene activities and swimming pools, residential properties and radon is meritorious.
We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills who wants to contribute to fulfilling the group's common goals. You are flexible and adapt well to changing circumstances. You take initiative in activities and projects and enjoy being in the field conducting supervision visits. The position also requires you to be organized and able to plan your work independently within your supervision areas. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
