As an environmental engineer, you play an important role in the work we do at Lumire for all of Luleå. Together we make Luleå sustainable.
About the Role
As an environmental engineer in the Quality and Environment (KM) department, you will have the opportunity to work in a developing and varied operation within water, sewerage and waste. The department's work includes, among other things, field sampling, participation in projects, investigations and risk analyses, as well as the development of procedures, reports, government applications and response letters.
Together with your colleagues, you contribute to developing, supporting and monitoring the organization from a quality and environmental perspective. You have an important role in ensuring that our work is conducted in accordance with applicable requirements and with a focus on continuous improvement.
At Lumire, we conduct vital public services, and in this position you will work as an expert in drinking water with a particular focus on preventive quality work. The tasks mainly involve handling issues related to drinking water based on self-monitoring programs and received complaints, with the goal of ensuring safe and high drinking water quality for the municipality's residents.
A large part of the work consists of sampling and monitoring drinking water quality. Sampling takes place, among other things, at preschools, schools, other vital public services, companies and at private homes.
We are Looking for You
We are looking for someone who is organized, independent and self-motivated in your work approach. You enjoy collaborating with others—both internal and external parties—and you find it easy to build networks. You have good communication skills and can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing. You have good customer service skills and feel comfortable visiting customers in their home environment. You enjoy working in a team.
You have higher education in environment and water or equivalent education that the employer considers equivalent. Work experience in water/sewerage and sampling is meritorious.
A B-class driver's license is required.

Information
Employment type, working hours: Full-time temporary position, approximately one year from preliminary December 1, 2026, but possible to start immediately.
Salary terms: By agreement.
