About the Position Would you like to drive Södra's sustainability efforts forward? At Södra Cell Värö, you'll have an important role in our work toward a sustainable and resource-efficient industry. As an environmental engineer, you'll work closely with operations and help ensure that we develop our production in line with both environmental requirements and Södra's high sustainability ambitions. Here you'll have the opportunity to combine technology, environment, and improvement work in an operation at the forefront of the green transition. Together with engaged colleagues, you'll contribute to creating tomorrow's sustainable solutions based on the renewable raw material forest. What You'll Work With at Södra As an environmental engineer, you're an important resource for the entire operation. You'll work both operatively and strategically to develop and follow up on our environmental efforts. In this role, you'll among other things: Support and guide operations on matters related to environmental legislation, permit conditions, and internal requirements. Contribute to projects and change initiatives to ensure environmental aspects are considered in investments and process changes. Monitor, analyze, and report environmental data and environmental parameters. Manage regulatory reporting and statutory disclosures. Conduct dialogues with authorities and other external stakeholders. Identify improvement areas and drive the development of the operation's environmental efforts. Contribute to Södra Cell Värö's continued development as a sustainable and competitive industry, where sustainability not only reduces our footprint but also strengthens our business. This is a permanent position, full-time, daytime hours in Värö, start date by agreement. Who Are We Looking For? We're seeking someone who wants to combine your interest in environment and sustainable development with the opportunity to influence and develop operations. You thrive in a role where you can use your expertise while collaborating closely with colleagues across different parts of the organization. You have the ability to analyze complex issues, see both details and the bigger picture, and translate requirements and insights into practical and long-term sustainable solutions. Through your structured approach and communication skills, you build trust and establish strong relationships, both within and outside the operation. As a person, you're curious, proactive, and engaged. You enjoy driving matters forward together with others and are motivated by contributing to continuous improvements. Most importantly, you have a genuine commitment to environmental issues and a desire to help create a more sustainable future. To succeed in this role, we see that you have: University or college education in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, energy, process industry, or equivalent field. Knowledge of environmental legislation and environmental regulatory requirements. Ability to analyze data and translate results into improvement measures. Good skills in Swedish and English, spoken and written. It's a merit if you have experience in environmental work within process industry, energy sector, or other licensed operations.
