Munkfors Municipality is forty kilometers from Forshaga and is home to approximately 3,800 residents. We are responsible, among other things, for supervision according to the Environmental Code, food legislation, and planning and building legislation. Description Do you want to lead and develop a business that is of great importance for both today's and the future's Forshaga? We are now seeking an Environment and Building Manager who wants to combine close leadership with strategic development work. With us you will lead a knowledgeable and engaged work group and at the same time be involved in influencing the municipality's overall development. As Environment and Building Manager, you have a central role in matters that concern both residents and businesses as well as the municipality's long-term development. You work closely with both employees, municipal management and politics in a small municipality where the distance between idea and decision is short. Job Responsibilities As Environment and Building Manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, finances, personnel and work environment within the Environment and Building Office. You are responsible for planning, monitoring, developing and quality assuring operations based on legislation, political objectives and the municipality's overall direction. The unit consists of eight employees and you actively work to create good conditions for employee development, participation and engagement. Together you drive the operation forward and meet future needs within the environment and building sector. The Municipal Director is your immediate supervisor and you are part of the municipality's management group. There you are expected to contribute with a strategic perspective, holistic view and active participation in the municipality's overall development work. In the role you collaborate with politics, other municipal operations, authorities and external actors. You follow the development within the field of operations and drive, together with engaged employees, environment and building issues forward. Qualifications We are looking for you who have relevant post-secondary education in environment and building, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good knowledge of the legislation that governs the administration's areas of operation. Experience from municipal operations is a merit, as is experience from exercise of authority within one of the operation's areas. It is also a merit if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. We would like to see that you have previous experience in management as well as work with budget, personnel, work environment and systematic quality work. As a person, you are confident and stable in your professional role, with good self-awareness and the ability to adapt your approach based on situation and context. You have clear and inclusive leadership where you motivate, engage and create participation in the work group.
