Municipal Engineering and Services is divided into four units: facilities, streets and parks, water and wastewater, and food services. We manage municipal land and operational facilities, clean municipal premises, maintain streets and roads, pedestrian and cycling paths, parks, playgrounds, forests, waste management and utility networks. We produce drinking water and treat wastewater. Within the food service unit we prepare meals for schools, preschools, elderly care and home services. Municipal Engineering's responsibility is to meet both residents' and other departments' needs for services in water, wastewater, road maintenance, park management, facility management and waste management. As a Land and Development Engineer you help create the conditions for new homes, businesses and attractive living environments – from the initial idea to implementation. With us you get a central role in the municipality's urban development work and the opportunity to influence how Forshaga grows and develops. You work both strategically and operationally in close collaboration with colleagues, politicians, developers, property owners, authorities and residents. The role offers great variety, independent responsibility and the opportunity to follow projects through the entire urban development process. You become part of an organization with close collaboration and short lines between idea and decision. Here you can use your expertise broadly while contributing to solutions that stand the test of time. Duties As a Land and Development Engineer you are responsible for the municipality's land and development matters. You drive and participate in projects related to the development of residential areas, business sites and other strategically important urban development projects. In this role you will, among other things: Work with land acquisition, land sales and land allocations Prepare, review and negotiate development agreements, land transfer agreements, right-of-use agreements and other agreements in the field Participate in detailed planning processes and drive development projects from planning to implementation Coordinate work between the municipality, developers, consultants and authorities Lead projects within the land and development field Handle property law matters and contacts with Lantmäteriet Work strategically with the municipality's land holdings and land reserves Prepare decision-making materials and present matters to committees and municipal management. The breadth of the assignment means you alternate between long-term planning, negotiation, coordination and practical implementation. Qualifications We are looking for someone with higher education in urban development, surveying, physical planning, real estate economics or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have knowledge in real estate and land matters and express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing. A B driving license is required. It is a merit if you have experience in one or more of the following areas: Land and development matters, preferably within municipal operations Property law and surveying matters Contract negotiation and drafting Project management Detailed planning processes or other urban development projects. To succeed in this role you need to be able to drive your work forward, make well-founded assessments and find solutions to matters where multiple perspectives and interests need to be weighed together. You plan and structure your work carefully while maintaining an overall perspective and seeing how different parts of the urban development process connect. Because the role involves many contact points you need to be clear and trustworthy in your communication. You collaborate well with others, build professional relationships and can adapt your dialogue according to both situation and audience. We also see that you have a genuine interest in societal development and are motivated by contributing to the municipality's long-term and sustainable development.
