Air Defense Battalion's 98th Platoon at 98th Company Seeks Soldiers The Air Defense Battalion manages the combat units of the 61st and 62nd Air Defense Battalions and is now continuously recruiting group leaders and soldiers. The Air Defense Battalion is in a major growth phase as we introduce the Air Defense System 103/PATRIOT with supporting units. As a continuously employed GSS at the Air Defense Battalion, you will be assigned to one of the companies managing air defense, command, communications, logistics (supply/maintenance), engineering, and ground combat functions. 98TH PLATOON The primary mission of the 98th Platoon is combat against air targets, currently with Intelligence Unit 23 and Missile System 98. However, the Air Defense Regiment is expanding and new air defense systems are being procured for use by the platoon: radar PS923 and PM24. We locate, establish position, and engage aircraft. We are prepared to carry out missions throughout the country under varied conditions year-round. This places great demands on professionalism, responsibility, and the drive to continuously develop together with the team. Through continuous training and exercises in air target combat, ground combat, and system-specific skills, we contribute to the unit achieving its operational effect. OPEN POSITIONS We are currently recruiting soldiers and group leaders for the following positions: Air Defense Soldier Lavette Soldier Air Defense Soldier (Radar Operator) Air Defense Soldier Driver (PATGB, MAN HX, Truck) Air Defense Soldier Combat Leader 98 QUALIFICATIONS Completed military basic training with passing grades Class B driver's license MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS Completed occupational training for the correct position Previous service as GSS/K FM driver's license for one or more of the following vehicles: TGB 30/40, MAN X45, MAN HX, Bv410, or GW Personal Qualities We strive to build a team where colleagues complement each other. The Air Defense monitors airspace with mobile sensors (such as radar), detects threats, and protects critical objects and operations against air attacks through missile combat. The two air defense battalions that are part of the rapid response force are trained and maintained in readiness by the Air Defense Regiment.
