Speech-Language Pathologist at Habiliteringscenter Söderstaden Children Habiliteringscenter Söderstaden is a unit within Habilitering & Hälsa, a department within Region Stockholm with specialized expertise in functional disabilities. The unit specializes in intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, and autism spectrum diagnoses. We create conditions for patients to function optimally in their daily lives. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, and special education specialists. We meet with patients both individually and in groups. Patients live in the districts of Farsta, Skarpnäck, Enskede-Årsta-Vantör and the municipalities of Nacka and Värmdö. We work to develop abilities and strategies so that patients and their networks can manage their functional disabilities in everyday life. At Habiliteringscenter Söderstaden, approximately 35 employees work in fresh and airy facilities, close to commuter rail, buses, and subway. Job Responsibilities: As a speech-language pathologist with us, you will meet children and young people aged 0-17 years as well as their relatives and networks. Your patients have mobility impairments and/or intellectual disabilities and sometimes autism. The job responsibilities consist of mapping, assessment, and treatment of communication, speech and language difficulties, as well as eating, drinking, and swallowing problems. The work also includes testing and prescribing communication aids as well as training and follow-up of these. The work also involves leading groups and giving lectures based on your professional expertise. As part of the work, consultation and knowledge transfer to staff in the patient's immediate environment occurs. Our patients often have complex needs requiring collaboration, not only within the team, but with care partners, municipal services, and other authorities. The job responsibilities are varied and require flexibility. About You: We are looking for you who are a licensed speech-language pathologist and can work both independently and in collaboration with others. It is advantageous if you have previous experience working with patients with mobility impairments and/or intellectual disabilities. It is also advantageous if you have experience working with communication, speech and language difficulties, as well as eating and swallowing difficulties. Expertise in both low-tech and high-tech alternative communication is also valuable. As a person, you are initiative-taking, interested in development, and motivated by finding solutions with the patient's focus. You are confident and secure in yourself. For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area: - a background check will be applied before employment decision according to SLSO's general guidelines for background checks in hiring. - employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employee health examination according to applicable directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment. - in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required.
