About Us
The Psychiatric Clinic is part of the Division of Psychiatry and Functional Disabilities. The clinic's mission is to provide specialized psychiatric care to adult residents with severe mental health conditions in southern and western Sörmland.
The clinic's goal is to improve mental health, quality of life, and functional capacity in our patients.
The Psychiatric Clinic is a small clinic located on the hospital grounds, which enables collaboration with somatic care. The clinic consists of inpatient care, outpatient care, and acute services.
We are now launching a Specialist Psychiatric Care Team where we use a person-centered, flexible, and secure approach, meeting patients in their homes. We assess and manage the scope of nursing interventions for acute and long-term psychiatric conditions, somatic status, and resource and functional levels for individuals over 18 years old who have contact within psychiatry.
Your Responsibilities
• Assess and manage the scope of nursing interventions.
• Conduct psychiatric status assessments through conversations to map current deficits in symptoms, well-being, vulnerability, and disease history.
• Use MINI, AUDIT, and DUDIT when needed.
• Mandatory suicide risk assessment including clinical evaluation of suicidal thoughts, plans, and intentions according to current guidelines.
• Monitor and assess somatic status, vital parameters such as blood pressure, pulse, and any medication side effects.
• Observe how patients function in their daily life (ADL), living environment, sleep patterns, and nutrition.
• Family/next-of-kin dialogue after consent is given; involve and interview family members or other important people in the patient's network (to understand the full picture). This includes conversations involving children.
• File welfare reports when there is suspicion that children are being harmed.
• File welfare reports when there is suspicion that adults are being harmed.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed nurse. Further education as a specialist nurse in psychiatry is a merit.
We place great emphasis on collaboration skills as you will be part of a team and on personal qualities.
A B-class driver's license is required for this position.
Employment Type
Permanent employment with start date by agreement.
Daytime work with weekend shifts.
