Your New Job We are seeking a teacher/special education teacher for Eksjö's adapted upper secondary school. You will primarily teach practical and theoretical subjects in both national programs and individual programs. Depending on your competence and experience, other responsibilities may also be relevant. As a teacher, your work includes planning and conducting lessons, and you hold overall pedagogical responsibility for the students participating in the education. You should be a support for students and take a holistic view of each student's development. This includes conducting development conversations and participating in other meetings that promote student learning. Mentoring is part of this position. This academic year, the adapted upper secondary school has approximately 30 students and approximately 25 staff members. As a teacher, you collaborate with both your teaching colleagues and the school's various student assistants. Together, you have overall responsibility for stimulating and finding solutions so that students develop in the best possible way. The adapted upper secondary school's activities are built around a special education approach. Based on curriculum guidelines, you create a clear, accessible learning environment where you, together with other staff, take a holistic view of students with the goal of developing their knowledge, abilities, and skills to create opportunities for a meaningful and enriching life based on each student's individual future thoughts and circumstances. About You We are seeking a certified teacher qualified to teach in adapted upper secondary school. If you additionally have training as a special education teacher or other education within the special education field, this is advantageous. It is also advantageous if you have previously worked in upper secondary school. You are also welcome to apply if you have teaching experience and are interested in working as a teacher, even if you do not yet have teacher certification. If you lack teacher certification, you are expected to be prepared to complete it in parallel with your work. As a person, you are engaged, structured, and creative. You communicate clearly and are confident and stable in your teaching role. You have an interest in working with young people and you have an easy time building relationships. You enjoy working collaboratively, both in sharing your experience and in learning from and trusting others' experiences. About Our School The adapted upper secondary school in Eksjö is centrally located in Eksjö in the Storegården area and is organizationally part of Eksjö Gymnasium. The school has a principal, special education teachers/teachers, student assistants, special education specialist, social pedagogue, and study and career guidance counselor. In addition, we have good access to school nurse/counselor and very good contact with, among other things, the habilitation services. We currently have students distributed across three national programs and our individual programs. We have three priority areas that we work toward: Safer students, higher attendance, and better results. We provide our students with a safe study period with special education adaptations and support so that students have good conditions for meaningful employment in the future.
