About the Workplace
Stuvsta Primary Care Center is a private primary care facility with approximately 70 employees and 22,000 registered patients. Our team includes physicians, psychologists, district nurses, nurses, biomedical analysts, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and receptionists.
Stuvsta Primary Care Center has a long tradition of integrating psychological expertise within the patient care team. We value close collaboration between professions and actively work to create a workplace environment with strong cohesion, both within and between professional groups.
For several years, we have had an established program addressing mental health in children and adolescents as part of the primary care center's expanded mission. The program has well-established contacts and collaborative relationships with schools, social services, and other healthcare providers in the municipality. Since December 2021, we also have an agreement with Skogås Primary Care Center, meaning we receive children and adolescents registered there.
As a psychologist with us, you will be part of an engaged psychology team and have the opportunity to work broadly with psychological assessment, counseling, and treatment of children, adolescents, and their parents.
Job Duties
Your work will include outpatient services for children and adolescents with mental health concerns within primary care. The patient population and issues are varied and may include sleep problems, family conflicts, separation anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, tics, phobias, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety, and depression.
We also offer counseling and short-term parental support. Patients seeking help for mental health concerns receive a psychological assessment, after which an appropriate intervention is planned based on the child's or adolescent's needs and family situation.
Interventions may include:
psychoeducation and counseling
parental support
crisis support
psychological treatment, individual or group
lectures and other psychoeducational interventions
collaboration with schools, social services, and other healthcare providers
We also have the option to offer sessions digitally. When other levels of care or healthcare providers are needed, we help connect patients and ensure a smooth transition.
The work is varied and offers the opportunity to use psychological expertise in multiple ways – from assessment and counseling to treatment, collaboration, and consultation.
We work with evidence-based psychological methods tailored to the child's or adolescent's needs and family situation.
As a licensed psychologist, you will be offered regular external supervision and the opportunity for collegial consultation and experience sharing.
About You
We are looking for a licensed psychologist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families.
You are confident in your professional role, have a professional and respectful approach, and are comfortable making independent assessments. You appreciate varied work and see the value in collaborating with both colleagues at the primary care center and external stakeholders around the child.
We would like you to have experience working with children and adolescents and/or experience with CBT. Experience working in primary care or child psychiatry is a merit, but we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Qualifications
Requirements
Licensed psychologist with licensure issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
Merits
Experience working with children and adolescents.
Experience with CBT and evidence-based psychological treatment methods.
Experience working in primary care, first-line care, or child psychiatry.
Experience working with parents and families.
