Do you want to combine advanced Python development with capital management while taking on significant technical responsibility? We are now looking for a Lead Platform Developer who wants to play a central role in developing the analytics platform used for portfolio analysis, modeling, and return and risk monitoring. About the role Alecta manages one of Sweden's largest pension capital and continuously works to develop its analytics capacity. Within IT, modern and scalable solutions are being developed for portfolio analysis, valuation, and risk measurement, in close collaboration with capital management. As Lead Platform Developer, you will be part of a team of three people developing Alecta's analytics platform, based on Azure, Databricks, Python, and Power BI. The platform handles data and integration flows from SimCorp Dimension, FactSet, and external data providers, among others. The role combines hands-on development with significant technical authority. You will help set the technical direction, influence architecture and development standards, and serve as a technical resource and mentor for other developers. A central part of the role is to be the bridge between IT and capital management, translating business needs into robust and long-term sustainable technical solutions. The role involves close collaboration with specialists in portfolio analysis, valuation, risk, and investments. You are expected to be able to conduct qualified discussions on both investment matters and technical solutions, and translate complex analytical needs into scalable platform capabilities. Your role In this role, you will work closely with both IT and capital management and help further develop a platform that is crucial to the business. Your responsibilities will include: Lead and further develop the technical platform for portfolio, return, and risk analysis. Design and develop analytics functions, APIs, data models, and automated pipelines. Develop robust and scalable solutions for valuation, risk calculations, and other systematic processes. Work with advanced data handling of portfolio data, proxy data, and alternative data sources. Define and further develop best practices for Python and data development within IT for capital management. Drive technical initiatives and contribute to architecture and long-term technical choices. Proactively work with technical debt, quality, and lifecycle management of code and platform. Collaborate closely with capital management, IT architects, and security functions to create secure and long-term sustainable solutions. Work takes place in close collaboration with both the team and the business. We work agile and combine long-term development with the ability to quickly capture new needs and priorities that arise along the way. Who are you? We are looking for someone with solid background in systems development and several years of experience working at the intersection of technology, data, and capital management. You are a highly experienced Python developer with the ability to look beyond individual solutions to see how technology, architecture, and business needs fit together. For this role, we are looking for someone who has: Multiple years of experience in advanced systems development, preferably within extensive data handling or quantitative analysis. Deep experience with Python development, preferably in capital management or finance-related environments. Extensive experience in capital management and strong ability to understand and translate quantitative analysis needs into robust technical solutions. Practical experience with Azure, Databricks, API-based analytics services, and modern visualization tools. Relevant university education in areas such as data technology, data science, mathematics, or physics. Very strong skills in both Swedish and English. If you also have experience in data analysis, quantitative analysis, or machine learning, that is a plus. Beyond technical experience, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
